The White Lake Youth Theatre Education program at the Howmet Playhouse in Whitehall announces its production of “Just Before Sleep” from James Still, an award-winning playwright for young audiences.

Just Before Sleep will be performed by eight young actors on Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at the Howmet Playhouse.

Just Before Sleep tells the story of a family that have found themselves without a home due to a fire, and in the confusing and difficult world of living on the street, dealing with social agencies and struggling to find decent housing and medical The mother, young daughter and teenage son all face different challenges in the story, but Just Before Sleep is ultimately a story of love, determination and hope. Recommended for students from grade five and up, this show “is a timely and relevant story, and is beautifully realistically written,” said Playhouse Managing Director Katie Trzaska.

Tickets for Just Before Sleep are $10 for adults and $6 for students, and are available at Whitehall City Hall in advance and at the door. The performance is supported by a grant from the DTE Energy Foundation.
