Tickets still available for ‘Dancing with the Local Stars’

Come out and see Muskegon’s stars strut their stuff for charity. Dancing with the Local Stars will be held at the Muskegon Harbor Holiday Inn on Thursday, Feb. 21; Friday, Feb. 22; and Saturday, Feb. 23.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support local food pantries in lower Oceana, upper Ottawa and Muskegon Counties.

The performances on Friday and Saturday night are sold out, but tickets are still available for Thursday night and Saturday matinee.

The night performances begin with a cash bar and hors d’ourves and cookies at 6:30 p.m. The dance off will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the night performances are $40. The Saturday matinee will begin at noon with hors d’ourves and cookies and the performance will start at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30 each.

Our MC’s will be Miss Michigan 2001 Stacy Shepherd and former Muskegon Mayor Steve Warmington. You will see 11 local celebrities coupled with 11 local dance professionals to make for a fabulous show. Dave and Lisa Jirikovic will perform a memorial tribute dance to Bob Cutler, who was to be her DWTLS star partner. Depending on the performance, additional entertainment will be provided by: Mona Shores H.S. graduate, Sylvia Yacoub, top ten finalist in “The Voice”; Muskegon’s own singer and actress, Andrea Mathews; positive hip hop dance by 61Syx Teknique from Grand Rapids; harpist Phyllis Miner; and dancers Melissa Boutel, Karen Rix and Hans Kliphuis from the Social Dance Studio in Grand Rapids.

“Dancing with the Local Stars” tickets are available for purchase by contacting Mary Kendall, co-chairperson, at 231-798-4244 or kendall.mary@comcast.net
