WHITEHALL – It was a family affair at the kickoff of the 2013 Relay for Life of White Lake last Tuesday evening.
The theme of the local event is family-focused this year: “Relay Family Reunion - 20 years of Fighting,” and a family was the guest presenter at the local kickoff.
The White Lake event is a part of the American Cancer Society’s signature team fundraiser and survivor celebration held around a 24-hour community walk. The 24-hour event will be held May 18-19 at the Montague E.G. Township Athletic Complex next to Montague High School, the fundraiser portion is nearly a year-around function.
And, it has been going on in the White Lake Area for 20 years.
The first team captain’s meeting for the Relay for Life will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 7:30 p.m., at White Lake Congregational UCC, 1809 S. Mears Ave. For more information, email david.voss@cancer.org or call 616-566-2841.
