Tag Days approved

The first two Tag Day fundraisers for 2013 year in the City of Whitehall were approved by the city council at its meeting Jan. 8.

The city allows a total of 10 Tag Days with only one per weekend and two per month. Collection times must be between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity has requested a Tag Day for April 27. The funds raised will help pay for the White Lake Build’s 10th home.

The White Lake CROP Hunger Walk is planning a Tag Day on Oct. 5., 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will be collecting at the corner of Mears Ave and Colby St., and the intersection of Mears Ave. and Main St. The CROP Walk will be held the following day.

In the last five years, the CROP Walk and Tag Day has raised nearly $6,000 for local food banks, as well as raising funds to combat poverty around the world.
