R-P opens season at pre-conference meet
 
ZEELAND — The Reeths-Puffer bowling teams opened their seasons with the O-K Black pre-conference meet at Zeeland Lanes last Saturday.

The boys bowling team placed second, with a total score of 3870, just behind Mona Shores, which had a 3980.

Jordan Grabinski was the top scorer for R-P, posting a score of 244 in game one and 179 in game two.

The girls squad placed fourth at the opening meet with a score of 2698. Mona Shores easily won the girls’ meet with a 3486.

Kayleigh Gonzalez paced the Rocket girls, scoring a 194 in game one and a 132 in game two.

R-P beats Muskegon in opener

MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer bowling teams opened their seasons Monday and took victories over Muskegon at Northway Lanes.

The boys bowling team downed the Big Reds 27-3, while the girls won 25-5.

In the regular games, Noah Carter and Vincent Fors led the Rockets in game one by bowling identical 210 games. R-P took both regular games by over a hundred points. Game one’s score was 956-849 and game two’s was 919-805.

In the baker games, in which five team members bowl two frames each for one team score, R-P easily won as well. The Rockets took the first baker game 211-134 and the second 212-159.

On the girls’ side, Rebecca Johns led the Rockets in game one with a score of 198 while Samantha Johns bowled a 191. R-P won the regular games by scores of 775-603 and 711-496 respectively.

The baker games also both went in favor of R-P, as the Rockets won game one 205-92 and game two 185-102.

Rockets fall to Mona Shores

MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets dropped their second meet of the season, with both the boys and girls teams taking identical 22-8 losses to Mona Shores.

The boys team split the two regular games. The Sailors won game one 1047-918 while the Rockets bounced back to take game two 1046-997.

Noah Carter helped R-P take the second game by bowling a 246. Jordan Grabinski had a 245 and Vincent Fors posted a 244 in game one.

Mona Shores took both baker games, 186-158 an 205-185.

Samantha Johns led the girls with a series of 404, including a 232 in game one. Rebecca Johns had a 190 to lead the Rockets in game two.
