Woman killed on icy road
 
DALTON TWP – A 54-year-old Twin Lake woman was killed when the car she was driving slid across the centerline and hit a small SUV head on on Tyler Rd., between Russell Rd. and Central Rd. Sunday afternoon (Jan. 13).

According to a press release from the Muskegon Co. Sheriff’s Dept, the crash occurred at 3:57 p.m. Muskegon Co. Sheriff’s Dept. \, the Dalton Twp. Fire Department and Pro Med Ambulance all responded to the personal injury crash.

The driver of a Chevrolet Beretta, Roxanne Fiedorowicz, 54, of Twin Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Kirk Creighton,, was transported to Hackley Campus of Mercy Health Partners and was later transferred to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.

The driver of the Ford Escape, Darren Flowers, suffered minor injuries and sought medical treatment on his own.

Lt. Shane Brown reported the initial investigation indicates Fiedorowicz was eastbound on Tyler Rd, when she lost control of her car which slid into the westbound lane and collided head-on with Escape.

The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash, weather related factors as well as any potential speed and alcohol related issues.
