A benefit for Max and Miles Gable, pictured, will be held at the American Legion Hall in Whitehall on Jan. 19. The twins were born at 26 weeks and are currently hospitalized.
After trying to conceive for some time, Kim and Greg Gable were ecstatic when they discovered Kim was carrying twins.
But after only five months, Kim’s water broke with one of the twins. The doctors told the Gables that Kim would go into labor and neither twin would survive. Kim was admitted to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in September 2012 to live until the boys were born. Max and Miles Gable were born three months early on Oct. 23, 2012. Max was 2 pounds, 10 ounces and Miles was 2 pounds, 1 ounce.
Both boys were born with their PDA heart valves open, and many other complications. Max and Miles are currently still at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
A benefit is being held at the American Legion Hall in Whitehall this Saturday, Jan. 19. A spaghetti dinner will be held from 5-8 p.m., with entertainment by “All Jak’d Up and Friends” from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. There will also be 50/50 drawings, and silent and live auctions. The prices are $8 per adult, $5 for children 12 and under.
