The Dune Drummers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation was able again to provide Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes to 200 families throughout Muskegon and Oceana counties.

The volunteer organization provided box’s to Walkerville Schools, White Lake Area Community Education, Head Start families in New Era, Every Woman’s Place, First Lutheran Church of North Muskegon and Muskegon Rescue Mission.

Each box contained a 14-16 lb. turkey, 10 lb. bag of potatoes, cranberries, canned corn, green beans, stuffing and a loaf of bread.

The annual project was sponsored by Alcoa Howmet and Hot Rod Harley-Davidson. Volunteers came from the NWTF Dune Drummers Chapter members, and employees from Alcoa Howmet, Hot Rod Harley-Davidson of Muskegon and Montague Foods. Hot Rod Harley Davidson also provided its large truck to help in all the deliveries.

The effort provided 200 complete Thanksgiving Dinner Box’s for a estimated weight of 8,300 lbs.
