Muskegon man killed in Grant Township crash
 
A 63-year-old Muskegon man was killed in a one-car crash on northbound US-31 in Grant Township Sunday afternoon, Nov. 18, according to a press release from the Oceana County Sheriff’s Department.

Ronald William Witt was the driver of the vehicle which went off the road in the median under the Stony Lake Road overpass and struck a concrete bridge pier head-on at 3:30 p.m..

Witt was removed from his 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and transported by Oceana E.M.S. to Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby where he died.

According to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Department, the accident is still under investigation, and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor. Witt was not wearing his seatbelt, the accident report indicated.
