The Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (MACTC) will host an open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25.
Visitors will view and participate in hands-on demonstrations for each of the 18 programs offered.
Off campus classes such as Cosmetology, Construction Trades, Graphic Production Technologies, and Visual Communications will all be represented on the main campus as well. Guests interested in seeing the progress at this year’s Construction Trades home may travel a mile and a half away to 2520 Chestnut Trail. Instructors will be at the home.
Students working to raise funds for trips and scholarships will host a silent auction and a chance to dunk Principal Kyle Fiebig and Assistant Principal John Hill in a tank of chilly water. A car detailing kit from the Auto Body class, a therapeutic gift basket from Rehab Tech, cookies, gift card, water bottle, and t-shirt are a few of the items to be auctioned off.
At 6 p.m., top contestants for the MACTC song-writing contest will perform live. Following the performance, staff will announce the winning group that will star in an upcoming promotional video for the MACTC. Radio Personality “EOB” from WSNX will be live onsite and guests will have the chance to register to win a pair of tickets to see Lady Gaga at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
