Joanne Arendt, age 74, of Shelby, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at her home. She was born February 26, 1939 in Chicago to Nicholas and Hedwig “Hattie” (Kollaritsch) Arendt.
Joanne graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois. She had been employed as a bank teller in the Chicago area. Joanne moved to Whitehall in 1994 and then to Shelby in 1997.
She was a former member of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Whitehall. She joined Our Savior Lutheran Church of Hart upon her move to Shelby.
Joanne is survived by her sister, Marie Hendrixon and her two nephews, Jeffrey and David Hendrixon. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is Sunday, March 24th, 2-3 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hart. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm at the church with Pastor Richard Miller officiating. Memorials to either Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2087 N. Water Road, Hart, MI 49420 or the Oceana County Council On Aging, 621 E. Main Street, Hart, are appreciated.
