Muskegon County Commissioners are undecided on how to review citizen appointments.
The indecision followed a lengthy discussion at their full board meeting on Tuesday.
District 6 County Commissioner Charles Nash suggested to the board that there be a review process for the citizen appointments. Specifically he noted that some committees have not had a quorum because of poor attendance by its members. Therefore, no official business can be conducted at these meetings.
Nash made a motion to send out a report form on Nov. 1 that would have to be returned by Dec. 1 from the chairman on each committee reviewing the group and the attendance of its members.
“We have some citizen appointments that have not worked out,” Nash said. “We want to make sure the boards are functioning and moving forward.”
