When it was announced that the Maritime Festival will not be held this year, the sponsors of the Community Picnic which opened the festival on Thursday night, looked for another family event to give to the White Lake area.

The Harbor Light Credit Union and The White Lake Beacon newspaper will be sponsoring the inaugural White Lake Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday afternoon, March 30.

It will be the largest Easter Egg Hunt in this area, and totally free to the public.

The hunt will have over 3,500 plastic eggs with prizes inside for children to collect in three different age group areas.

The age groups are 0-3, 4-7 and 8 and up. There will be signs to direct the children and parents to the correct area.

“There will be goodies inside every egg,” said Leslie Salter of Harbor Light Credit Union.

The family event begins at 2 p.m. at Funnell Field at the corner of Hanson Street and Franklin Street in downtown Whitehall.

Organizers also encourage families to bring a camera to get a photo of their children with the Easter Bunny who will be at the hunt.
