Mr. Charles E. Wagner



Charles Edward Wagner of Montague went suddenly to meet his God on March 1st, 2013, at the age of 83. He was born January 6th, 1930, to Oscar and Frances (Schultz) Wagner and raised in Detroit Michigan. He graduated from McKenzie High School, then attended the University of Michigan, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1953. He enlisted in the army and was assigned to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. In 1955, he was hired by Chrysler Corporation and worked there for 32 years until he retired. Mr. Wagner worked with the drive train research group, particularly proud of his work developing an experimental turbine engine for passenger vehicles. He has enjoyed 25 years of retirement with his wife Kathleen, including living in southern Florida, until moving to Montague in 2002. Kathleen and Chuck recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. Chuck is a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church of Whitehall. He was a member of the choir and the Property Committee. Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Karen Dodds.

FAMILY: He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Bloxsom) Wagner; his children, Lynn (Gary) Neighbors and Kurt (Marianna) Wagner; his grandchildren Jennifer (Scott) Barnes, Caroline Neighbors, Erik Wagner, David Wagner, and Stephanie Wagner; siblings, Robert (Doris) Wagner, Marlene Holmes, Kathleen Wagner and Donna (Russell) Poulson.

SERVICE: Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 3:00 PM, at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall, with the Rev. Douglas M. Ogden officiating. Interment willl be Friday, in Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia.

VISITING TIME: Thursday, March 7, 1-3 PM, at the church in Whitehall.

DONATIONS: Memorial Fund of Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall 49461.
