MUSKEGON — Reeths-Puffer hockey continued its winning ways Wednesday night, defeating Hudsonville 6-3 at the Lakeshore Sports Center.

The Eagles took a 3-2 lead early in the second period, but R-P dominated the puck the remainder of the evening and scored the game’s final four goals.

“Our depth is so strong that it’s only a matter of time before people break through and make plays,” Rockets’ coach Eric Sikkenga said. “Any given night, one of the 12 forwards we have dressed can light it up for two goals. When you have 12 kids that are capable of that, someone’s going to get it.”

“We have, I think, eight of the top 12 scorers in the O-K Conference. It’s both talent and depth that allows us to create offense.”

Josh Smith had two goals for the Rockets. Alex Lewandoski, Tommy Munroe, Stephen Pallante, Cody Vanderstelt and Brenden Alderink each scored once.

MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets rallied from an early deficit to defeat Mona Shores in a showdown of two of the state’s best teams Sunday afternoon, 4-3, in overtime.

The game was a part of a six-game weekend event called Roof Off, Game On, a charity event dedicated to fighting neurofibromatosis, childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and autism. The event is expected to be an outdoor game at Reeths-Puffer’s football stadium next year.
