Brownie Mix
By Margaret Heaton
“Mom, the whole world is sick!” This was my great-niece Lilith as she ran into the house after school one day. And to her, this was a truthful statement. She is a first grader and in her class, the teacher puts four desks together, called a pod and gives each pod a name. The teacher began with the street the school was on, the town, the county, state, country until the “whole world” was in the classroom.
As funny as Lilith’s comment may sound, has anyone not had a sickness touch their homes this month? My goodness, what a month this has been for sickness! In this home it has been pink eye, a gift from the grandkids to their grandfather. Then the respiratory thing came along. As I sit here looking at the snow coming down sideways, I find myself thinking about the long bike rides on the warm, tree-laden bike trails around our White Lake area. Summer cannot come soon enough!
