Mr. Roger C. Berg
 
Roger C. Berg, age 71, of Montague, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center in Whitehall.

Roger was born April 4, 1941 in Custer, Michigan to Richard and Dorothy (Gray) Berg. He lived in Fruitport for a short time and spent most of his youth on the family farm near Montague.

He married Donna Robbins on September 30, 1961. He was a chemical worker for 30 years, first at Ott-Story Chemical and later at Muskegon Chemical. Roger was employed next at Old Century Forge before his retirement.

Mr. Berg was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Montague. He enjoyed snowmobiling and camping years ago. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a gunsmith Ð a hobby that turned into a business.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Mark Berg (and Helena Hackett), Sharon Berg (and Mark Krull) and Karon Vaughn (and Wilbur Martin); his mother, Dorothy Berg; his grandchildren, Jon Paul (Christy) Hackett, Amber Short, Joseph Vaughn, Jessica Vaughn, Robbie Berg and Thomas Berg; great-grandchildren, Gwen Hackett, Josie Hackett, Brionna Short and Alyssa Harrington; his brothers, Tom (Sue) Berg and Tim (Kathy) Berg; sisters, Leah Stevens and Rebecca (Joseph) Dabrowski; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Berg.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, January 16th, 1 pm at St. James Lutheran Church in Montague with Pastor John Brooks officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague.
