Public Health Muskegon County will host a free training and information session for alcohol sellers and servers on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
The event will be held 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the Culinary Institute of Michigan at 336 W Clay in downtown Muskegon.
The training is an ongoing activity of the Muskegon Alcohol Liability Initiative (ALI). ALI works to reduce alcohol related incidents and injuries among youth and young adults through ongoing education and law enforcement, by revising and creating alcohol policies and programs, educating vendors on distribution laws, supporting existing youth based programs, and monitoring compliance throughout the Muskegon area.
The event will cover changes in the Liquor Code, information about free server training, an explanation of how compliance checks are conducted, examples of when and why law enforcement should be called, and an opportunity to ask questions of law enforcement and public health representatives.
The training is intended for all owners, bartenders, and employees who sell or serve alcohol, anyone with, or currently seeking, a liquor license, and anyone interested in learning more about the Michigan Liquor Code. Those interested in attending should RSVP by calling (231) 724-6025 or by email at demoljo@co.muskegon.mi.us.
