MUSKEGON – Sophomore Morgan Shugars had an outstanding game for Montague last Monday, but it was not enough to get a win for her team against the Muskegon Catholic Crusaders.

Shugars scored 15 points, many coming off her 9 steals on defense. All six of Montague’s first-quarter points were scored by Shugars.

But, the Crusaders were led by Kathryn Salisz who scored 32 points. Hayleigh Locke added 17 points.

Despite the loss, O’Connell was pleased with how his shorthanded team played. As a result of injuries and illness, he had just seven players. “We played hard, we played tough,” he said.

O’Connell said Salisz started hot and stayed hot in shooting, and Locke stepped up for the Eagles.
