Mrs. Anita Groos
 



Anita M. Groos, 94 a resident of Duck Lake, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Medi-Lodge, Port Huron, Michigan. Anita was born on March 12, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert E. and Hermina Hermann of Duck Lake. Anita graduated from the Chicago public schools and received a degree from Stephens College in Missouri. She married George Groos in Chicago on October 9, 1937. He preceded her in death in January 1994. Her working years were at Pullman Bank and as a clerk in the Chicago public schools. In 1978 Anita and George retired to Michigan and built a house on Duck Lake where they lived until 1984 when they moved to her parents home two doors away. Over the years Anita enjoyed numerous family visits, parties and celebrations at Duck Lake. Anita is survived by her son, Robert (Karen) Groos, Crystal Lake, Illinois and her daughter, Bonnie (Harlan) Blomquist, Port Huron, Michigan.

FAMILY: She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Robert M. Groos, Kimberly (Steven) Maddie, Steven (Winifred) Groos, Jennifer (Steven) Rankins, Melissa Groos, Christa (Gary) Annes, Eric (Melissa) Blomquist, and Todd Blomquist. She is survived by eleven great grandchildren, Mitch Maddie, William Maddie, Andrew Rankins, Sarah Rankins, Archie Annes, Olivia Annes, Robert J. Groos, Alexandra Blomquist, Margaret Groos, Ava Blomquist and Katherine Groos. SERVICE: A service, will be at Clock Funeral Home of White Lake, 413 S. Mears Avenue, Whitehall, Michigan 49461, on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.

VISITING TIME: Saturday, February 11, from 10:00 AM until service time.

DONATIONS: Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice, 1430 Military Street, Port Huron, Michigan 48060 or to the charity of your choice.
