WHITEHALL – The Howmet Playhouse will host “Theater for Young Audiences,” a production of the Calvin College Department of Communication Arts and Sciences.

Originally presented in December at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, the students and faculty are bringing the show to the playhouse on Saturday, Feb. 18, to share with young theater-goers in Muskegon County. Appropriate for middle and high school students and parents, it is a great opportunity to take in some theater as a family.

The show will consist of a 10-minute play, “Mrs. Sorken,” and a two-act play, “The Shakespeare Stealer.” In Mrs. Sorken, a delightful monologue, the audience meets Mrs. Sorken, a composed and dignified woman who begins a presentation about “drama.” However, once Mrs. Sorken realizes she’s misplaced her notes, her presentation quickly unravels into a stream of zany and jumbled thoughts.
