WHITEHALL – Tuesday night Whitehall won the numbers game and the basketball game against visiting Muskegon Catholic Central, 69-52.
The Vikings played 10 in the game, with eight of them getting into the scoring column during the fast-paced, non-league game.
Whitehall’s depth took over in the second half. After leading by one at halftime, 27-26, the Vikings opened the lead to five after three quarters, and blew it open in the fourth by outscoring the Crusaders 22-10.
Isaac Love led the Vikings in scoring with 19 points, including two three-pointers. Robert Johnson controlled the post inside for 16 points, along with Whitehall’s other big man, Sam Kuipers, who scored 13.
Johnson led the Vikings in rebounding with nine. Brandon Delarosa had five assists, while John Beeghly and Antwan Burks had two steals each on defense. Whitehall had 14 turnovers in the contest.
Catholic Central was led by center Jason Ribecky who scored 26, including 10-22 at the line.
