Living in a different town or state from someone who needs care can be very challenging. Someone in the family must make a visit to talk to the person and spend some time to see just what possible help might be needed.
Mom and dad may say that they manage meals just fine, but that might mean toast, soup and frozen dinners and not balanced meals. If they need transportation to doctor’s appointments, shopping, beauty shop, can you make arrangements with another relative, friend or neighbor. The person’s church family might want to help with transportation to church, a friendly visitor or might even provide a parish nurse.
