Maple Grove Park beach is one area added to the White Lake shoreline habitat rehabilitation project. At right, the causeway shoreline in Montague could be added to the project if an agreement is reached.
One new area has been added to the White Lake Restoration Project, and a second may be added soon.
Starting in the spring, the shoreline at the city-owned Maple Grove Park in Montague will be improved.
The work at Maple Grove Park will be focused in two areas on either side of the beach, about 20-25 feet out in the lake. Those areas are filled with old industrial debris, concrete, sand castings, rebar and slab wood. There is also an old building that was demolished and left in the water. The debris in the water will be removed and minor habitat restoration work will be done on either side of the beach.
