The group Hawk Nelson has certainly made a lot of positive noise since first joining together in Ontario. The quartet was named Favorite New Artist by the readers of CCM magazine in 2004, won a GMA Canada Covenant Award for its second album in 2006, and earned a GRAMMY nomination in 2008. Band members are Daniel Biro, Jason Dunn, Jonathan Steingard, and Justin Benner.
The band’s latest project is “Live Life Loud,” named after the title track.
The group Superchick is living up to its name.
Its first four albums have combined for 700,000 copies sold, more than 70 film, television and videogame song placements, and five No. 1 singles.
John Rueben is a Christian hip-hop artist whose rhymes suggest the influence of pioneering ‘80s artists like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Pharcyde while his music embraces everything from old-school beats to alternative pop.
Reuben (born John Reuben Zappin) was born in Columbus, OH, on January 14, 1979. Reuben’s family ran a Christian outreach center and drug rehab facility in Columbus, and he grew up on the grounds, spending a lot of his time with troubled youth from the East Coast who helped fuel his interest in hip-hop.
In 2000, Reuben released his first album for Gotee Records, a Christian label founded by Toby Mac of dc Talk, Are We There Yet?, and his witty, insouciant attitude led many critics to label him as the CCM answer to Eminem. However, Reuben began to come into his own as an artist with his third LP, 2003’s Professional Rapper, which he helped produce, incorporating a greater use of live instrumentation rather than samples and loops.
Reuben has released two more albums, 2005’s The Boy vs. the Cynic and 2007’s Word of Mouth.
Infused with an energy that finds its source in their passion for bringing others closer to Jesus, Bread of Stone is an up-and-coming Christian band based out of Sioux City, Iowa with a sound all their own.
Having lived in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world the first nine years of their life, Bread of Stone was formed by two brothers Ben (vocals) and Bill Kristijanto (guitar) and later joined by good friends Tim Barnes (bass) and Krislyn Woolley (drums). With a unique blend of rock, pop, and worship, their music takes listeners on a journey through the heights and depths of the human experience.
The band has released projects, Broken Vessels and Letting Go. The band has toured with Newsboys, legendary Petra, Building 429, Remedy Drive, Phil Joel, Stellar Kart and Fireflight.
What first started as singing in church services for Jason Easton, quickly blossomed into the Swartz Creek, Michigan-bred hopeful earning a degree in Music Education at Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois. From there, Eaton found himself on stage as a soloist with the Thurlow Spur productions of Concert Ministries International, playing the lead role in the musical “David, A Man After God’s Own Heart” (written by Cam Floria, head of the Continental Singers) and subsequently appearing on “The 700 Club” with Pat Robertson.
Michigan’s Adventure is located at 4750 Whitehall Road. To get there, take the US-31 Russell Road exit.
