New bridal website launching Valentine’s day

The White Lake Beacon, in partnership with its sister newspapers, Oceana’s Herald-Journal and the Ludington Daily News, is launching a new Brides website this Valentine's Day.

The new site will be dedicated to all things Bridal, including engagement, wedding and anniversary announcements. All announcements appearing in the three newspapers will be included on the website as will regular features about wedding packages, wedding essentials and all things brides need to know. Many of the reader features on the West Michigan Brides website will be exclusive to that online publication.

The new website will be linked to the current websites for the three newspapers.

"In the past we've posted bridal information on our newspaper websites, and we'll continue to do that, but this website will be more in depth with photographs, RSS feeds from other bridal sites and even blogs from advertisers," said Andy Klevorn, Shoreline Media's Multimedia Services manager.

"We felt this audience was under served by our current print publications. We already publish two separate bridal books; this site is an extension of those. With West Michigan Brides we are providing couples celebrating key milestones with their own place on the web," Klevorn said. And it allows advertisers an opportunity to reach a more targeted audience.

The site is up and running now in beta mode at www.westmibrides.com. By Valentine's Day all announcements submitted to the newspapers will be on the new website. Klevorn noted the new site and the newspapers sites will allow couples to submit their announcement information directly online.

"We'll be adding information to the site as it comes in to the newspapers, and we will also publish the information in the newspapers," Klevorn said.

"People still want the legacy keepsake that print newspapers provide. Despite what you may hear on television, most people still want to be able to show their kids engagement and wedding info decades later, and you can't do that effectively with any other medium than newspapers," he said.
