Mr. Richard "Shorty" Nyquist
 
Richard “Shorty” Nyquist, age 66, died Jan. 23, 2010. He was born Feb. 14, 1943 in Muskegon to Alfred and Ethel Nyquist. He attended Whitehall schools and Ferris State College. He worked for Western Union and Port City Cab. He enjoyed vacationing in the U.P. and farming. Mr. Nyquist had polio at an early age, but that never stopped him. He had an enormous lust for life and will to live through all his health issues past and present. The world has lost a special person, but heaven has gained one. Shorty was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Nyquist, and brother, Robert Nyquist.

FAMILY: A daughter, Jill (Kevin) VanDenZanden, and children, Kaitlyn, Tayte and Krysten of Hart; a son, Todd (Michelle) Nyquist, and children, Michaela and Samantha of Grand Rapids; mother, Ethel Nyquist of North Muskegon; sisters, Ruthe (Larry) Gebhart of North Muskegon and Susan Vanderlaan of Whitehall; many nieces and nephews, and special loved ones, the Salazars.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, 11 AM, at Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church, 4283 N. Weber, Whitehall. Luncheon to follow.
