Mrs. Barbara J. DeVecht |

Barbara Jo (Ebel) DeVecht, 46, of Whitehall, passed away at her home, December 31, 2009. After two rounds of fighting breast cancer, the Lord showed His mercy and took her home. She graduated from Spring Lake High School, 1981. She will be remembered for her work at the Whitehall Alternative Educational Program and as a massage therapist. After her first bout of cancer, she became highly involved in Relay for Life and other breast cancer awareness programs. She dearly loved children and animals. Barb was a selfless wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be remembered for her countless acts of love, her unique sense of humor, and her positive outlook on life. Her faith was her rock. Barb loved everyone and was very forgiving. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her beloved children, Clayton and Sammy Jo; her parents, Edward and Joan Ebel; brothers, Steve (Eleane) Ebel, Grand Haven, Craig (Lucy) Ebel, Holland; and her dog, Mia.
Memorial Services: GRAND HAVEN, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1401 S. Griffin Street. WHITEHALL, January 7, 2010 at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow service at Whitehall United Methodist Church, 117 S. Division Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions to offset medical bills may be made to Fifth Third, or donations made to the Humane Society or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospitals. |
