Emma Jean Grady, age 88, of Whitehall, died peacefully in her sleep on March 5, 2013, after a long illness. She was born October 14, 1924, in Whitehall, to Archie W. and Minnie F. (Chumney) Anderson. She graduated from Whitehall High School and Muskegon Business College and later worked as an administrative assistant at DuPont de Neimors and later for Attorney Allan VanderPloeg. On June 1, 1963, she married the love of her life, Eugene F. Grady, who preceded her in death. They traveled extensively about the U.S. Jean enjoyed scenic photography and took pleasure in sharing slide shows of their many trips. Jean was a long-standing and active member of Whitehall United Methodist Church and the Anne Circle of the church, White Lake Women’s Club, Business & Professional Women and White Lake Historical Society. A brother, Dudley, preceded her in death.
FAMILY: Step-sons, Gerald (Janet) Grady and Ronald (Vivian) Grady; brother, Wendell (Betty Jo) Anderson of Whitehall; sister-in-law, Doris Anderson of Lansing; several nieces and nephews who were very important in her life.
SERVICE: Graveside services and a lucheon will be annnounce at a later date.
