Oehrli Elementary School received a grant of $2,000 from Great Lakes Energy (GLE) for robotics programming training using Lego models. The project will be implemented by computer teacher Kristin Day-Hinken during the 2012-13 school year.
Great Lakes Energy awarded just over $16,000 in grants to 13 schools through its Touchstone Energy Classroom Grant program made possible by GLE’s association with Touchstone Energy and the cooperative’s commitment to local communities.
“Touchstone Energy cooperatives emphasize commitment to community, among other values practiced by electric co-ops,” explains Steve Boeckman, CEO of Great Lakes Energy. “These grants are just one way our co-op chooses to be directly and positively involved with the communities we serve.”
