MARJORIE A.

Whitehall

Marjorie A. “Marge” Conrad, 92, formerly of Lombard, Illinois, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on January 11, 2013, to be with our Lord. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on January 8, 1921, to Edward and Adeline Hepperle. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Montague. She graduated from Proviso Township High School in Maywood, Illinois, and went on to attend secretarial school. She was employed as a waitress, secretary and telephone operator. She married Earl Conrad of Lombard, Illinois, on June 18, 1949, and moved to Whitehall in 1973. Marge was very sociable and enjoyed memberships in groups like the White Lake Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Club, Historical Society, TOPS, the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA and the Garden Club, where she served in many leadership roles. She was Secretary/Treasurer of Conrad Machine Company for many years. Mrs. Conrad was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Hepperle, and a sister, Virginia Hepperle.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; four sons, Alan of Champaign, Illinois, John (Patricia) of Naperville, Illinois, Tom (Dorothy) and Douglas (Pam), both of Whitehall; six grandchildren, Nathan, Alicia (Jason) Crompton, Shaun (Kailee), Jordan, Kimberly and Kelly; two great-granddaughters, Jorie and Brioney Crompton; nieces and nephews.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held and details published at a later date.
