Public invited to M-231 project open house

A public open house to review construction plans for M-231 and connected routes north of the Grand River in Ottawa County will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 4-6 p.m., at the Crockery Township Hall, 17431 112th Ave., Nunica.

The meeting will focus on what to expect for traffic impacts on I-96, M-104 and 112th Avenue over the summer. Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) officials will provide project details, the construction schedule and detour information. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the project.

Work in 2013 includes:

- Constructing new bridges over the Grand River, Little Robinson Creek and Leonard Street.

- Constructing the new M-231 route from the new Grand River bridge north to I-96/M-104;

- Reconstructing I-96 roadway and bridges from Apple Drive east to 112th Avenue; and

- Making improvements to the I-96/112th Avenue interchange.
