HART — The Whitehall Vikings continue to grow in their second season of varsity competitive cheer.

Whitehall was in third place after the first round of Wednesday night’s West Michigan Conference cheer meet at Hart before finishing fourth with a total score of 575.00.

Hart was first with a score of 691.04, with Shelby and Mason County Central the next two behind the Pirates.

“We raised our scores in each of the three rounds, and continue to improve weekly,” Whitehall coach Dorianne Kittridge said. “Our team’s confidence continues to build making our performances better each time.”

The Vikings posted a solid round one score of 182.80 and a round three tally of 236.80 en route to their fourth-place finish.

“We are becoming more competitive amongst the area varsity teams,” Kittridge said. “It’s an exciting year for the Lady Vikes.”

Montague placed fifth at the meet wth a total score of 556.66. The Wildcats were fourth in round three, with a score of 243.90, but couldn’t make up an early deficit.

R-P 3rd at Union Jamboree

GRAND RAPIDS — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets placed third Wednesday at the Union Jamboree as the O-K Black Conference competitive cheer season continues.

R-P posted a score of 659.12, edging out Muskegon for third place.

Kenowa Hills won the meet with a score of 742.42, with Mona Shores coming in second.
