 Rita A. Kenny
Rita A. Kenny, age 72 of Montague, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 in Muskegon. She was born July 16, 1940 in Valls Creek, West Virginia to Victor and Hilda (Knoll) Herrmann.
She was raised in Niles and married James Kenny on October 28, 1961 in Niles. She was trained as a registered nurse. She was a longtime resident of the White Lake area. Mrs. Kenny was an active parishioner at St James Catholic Church in Montague.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Ann (Al) Kowalski of Muskegon, Brian (Michelle) Kenny of Cedarville, Michigan, Kathleen (Mark) Harrie of Montague and Matt (Jennifer) Kenny of Grand Haven. She was “Gega”to ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by brothers, Bob (Catherine) Herrmann of Niles, Ed Herrmann of Reed City, Jim (Nancy) Herrmann of Niles and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass for Mrs. Kenny was held Friday, February 1st, 11 am at St. James Catholic Church with Father Donn Tufts, Father Thomas Schiller and Father Mark Bauer as Concelebrants. Interment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Montague. Memorials to either Harbor Hospice’s Poppen House, 1050 W. Western Ave. Muskegon, MI 49441 or St. James Catholic Memorial Fund, 5179 Dowling Street, Montague, MI 49437, are appreciated. You may leave a message for the family at www.harrisfhome.com.
