Robert "Bob" J. Cutler



Mr. Robert “Bob” J. Cutler, age 58, of North Muskegon, passed away very suddenly on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, community and business leader in the Muskegon area, Bob will be fiercely missed. He was born July 19, 1954 in Kokomo, IN, to Robert and Elizabeth (March) Cutler and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Bob graduated from Reeths-Puffer High School and earned his bachelor degree from Northern Michigan University and a masters in automotive aftermarket management from the University of the Aftermarket. He married the love of his life and best friend, the former Jeanne M. Keefe in Muskegon on August 2, 1974. Together with his wife, Bob co-owned Muskegon Brake & Distributing Company, LLC and Muskegon Tire Company, LLC in Muskegon as well as Lakeside Service Center in Spring Lake. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he had previously served on the Parish Council. Bob was involved in his community as past Chairman of the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, and currently served on the boards of West Michigan Employers Association, Michigan Automotive Service Association, WayPoint Academy and the Hot Rod Power Tour. Bob was a participating member of Muskegon Rotary and Business Networking International. Bob was a car enthusiast who raced his 1973 Porsche professionally with the Rally America Series. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, boating and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. SURVIVORS include his wife, Jeanne M. Cutler; 3 children, Andrew (Samantha) Cutler, Justin (Stephanie) Cutler, Meggan (Trevor) Dyer; his 5 beloved grandchildren; his mother, Betsy Cutler; 3 sisters, Candy (Steve) Petrick, Pam Omer, Elizabeth “Libby” (Art) Beaudoin; his mother-in-law, Rosemary Keefe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George (Barbara) Keefe, Jr., Ronald (Marilyn) Keefe, Kathleen (Skip) Lee, Tim (Liz) Keefe, Patricia (Bob) Bielski, Joanne (Steve) Petersen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Cutler in 2012 and his father-in-law, George H. Keefe, Sr. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak as celebrant.
