SCOTTVILLE — The Montague cheer team posted a solid showing at Wednesday’s West Michigan Conference jamboree at Mason County Central, placing fourth and barely missing third place.
The Wildcats’ score was 542.20, just 1.28 points behind the host Spartans, who were third.
Hart dominated the meet with a first-place finish and score of 677.74.
Whitehall placed fifth at the meet with a score of 508.50.
“Whitehall really struggled in round three with execution,” Whitehall coach Dorianne Kittridge said. “We are looking forward to (Saturday’s) Shelby Invitational and executing a better round three.”
Montague 2nd at Comstock Invite
COMSTOCK PARK — Montague placed second at last Saturday’s Comstock Park Invitational with a score of 585.12, finishing behind only 2012 state finalist Shelby, which posted a score of 602.94.
Placing fourth at the meet was Lee, with a score of 530.82, and Western Michigan Christian was third with a score of 566.20.
