Red-hot Rockets now 14-0
 
HOLLAND — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets blew past West Ottawa Wednesday night by a 9-1 margin, extending R-P’s season-opening winning streak to 14.

The game was never in doubt as the Rockets piled up a 5-1 lead in the first period and allowed just 12 shots by the Panthers, 11 of which were saved by Jared Erickson.

Eight different Rockets scored goals in the game, led by Josh Smith’s two goals. Smith also had an assist for three total points.

Jeremy Joyce led R-P with four points, scoring a goal and tallying three assists. Kyle Kendra and Brenden Alderink each also had three points, with a goal and two assists apiece. Alex Dinger had three assists.

Tommy Munroe added a goal and an assist for the Rockets.

Rockets roll by Hudsonville

HUDSONVILLE — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets’ hockey team kept on rolling last Saturday, routing Hudsonville 7-1 to move to 13-0 this season.

R-P scored twice in the first period to take control of the game and never relinquished its hold.

Jeremy Joyce scored twice for the Rockets in the game. Kyle Kendra, Tommy Munroe, Curtis Pek, Brandon Young and Ryan Compeau each added a goal.

Alex Lewandoski recorded two assists for the Rockets. Notching one assist each were: Pek, Alex Dinger, Cody Vanderstelt, Andy DeYoung, Jackson Woodruff, Casey Trautner and Brenden Alderink.

Both Rockets’ goalies saw action in the contest. Aaron Andrews recorded 18 saves on the 19 shots he saw, while Jared Erickson came on in relief and saved all four shots he faced.
