The White Lake Youth Theatre Education Program invites student grades 6-12 from all school districts to audition for the program’s Winter Performance Workshop piece, “Just Before Sleep”.

This play tells the story of a family that has found themselves without a home due to a fire, and in the confusing and difficult world of living on the street, dealing with social agencies and struggling to find decent housing and medical care. Just Before Sleep is written by James Still, an award-winning playwright for young audiences.

Playhouse Managing Director Katie Trzaska and director Briana Clark chose this show because “Just Before Sleep is a timely and relevant story, and is beautifully and realistically written,” said Trzaska. “It presents opportunities for students to grow as dramatic actors, learn more about creative staging, and experience a genre of theater many students do not have an opportunity to participate in.”
