Ellsworth E. Bassett, age 84, of Whitehall, died January 6, 2013. He was born November 28, 1928, in Flint, to Elias and Mabel (Parks) Bassett. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bassett married the former Helen A. Hazard. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was a college instructor, had worked at Ford Motor Company and retired from Muskegon Piston Ring. Mr. Bassett was a member of Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church and had been an avid skier and bicyclist. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Johnathan Eilers, and two brothers, Robert Bassett and Homer Bassett.
FAMILY: His children, Russell (Debra) Bassett of VA, Darrell (Cindy) Bassett of Whitehall and Kimberly (Randy) Buitendorp of Otsego; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Herald (Joyce) Bassett and Jerald (Pat) Bassett; sisters-in-law, Pat Bassett and Arlene Bassett.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, January 11, 2013, at 2 PM, at Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church, 900 S. Warner St., Whitehall, with the Rev. Robert Wood officiating.
DONATIONS: Memorial Fund of Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church.
