R-P’s Micah Peel named all-city

Fall honors keep rolling in for area athletes, as Reeths-Puffer’s Micah Peel received all-city honors for the second year in a row to go with her all-O-K Black Conference recognition.

Peel was impressive in her sophomore season of 2012, leading the way in several races for the Rockets. She placed third in the GMAA meet, with a personal-best time of 19:39, and was fifth in the O-K Black Conference meet. Her totals rank her fifth all-time among Reeths-Puffer runners.

“She’s definitely one to watch in her remaining two seasons,” Peel’s father Ron said. “We’re extremely proud of possibly the most humble athlete one will ever meet.”

Peel was R-P’s lone representative on the all-conference team after the Rockets tied for third place with Mona Shores in the O-K Black. Reeths-Puffer was third in the dual season before placing fourth in the conference tournament.
