Muskegon and White Lake chambers partner to promote the lakeshore

Creating a sense of place is important to attracting residents and investments to the Muskegon Lakeshore. For this reason, The Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber and the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce have partnered to produce a 30-page, four-color community profile available in print and digitally online.

The 2012 magazine style publication focuses on the Lakeshore’s “Blue Economy” and quality of life.

The publication includes a community profile, beautiful photos, county demographics and articles highlighting Muskegon’s best qualities. A directory of Muskegon and White Lake chamber members is included in the online version located at both www.muskegon.org and www.whitelake.org.

This publication is used by companies and organizations for the recruitment of employees or executives. It is also used in business recruitment efforts and sent to those considering moving to or retiring along the Muskegon lakeshore.

“Once people see the photographs of the area they are inspired to take a serious look at the career or investment opportunities on the Lakeshore,” says Cindy Larsen, president of the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber. “When it comes to raising a family, people love the walkability of Whitehall and Montague,” says Amy Vanloon, executive director of the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Any company actively recruiting employees is encouraged to contact one of the chamber offices to obtain copies of this publication along with a suite of other recruitment tools. “When you look at what Muskegon County has to offer, we pretty much have it all,” says Vanloon.

The Muskegon chamber has been publishing “Living on the Lakeshore” for more than a decade, providing a vehicle to promote the community to new residents and small businesses. This is the second year the chambers have partnered to produce this annual publication. The magazine is produced in Michigan by Harbor House Publications of Boyne City.
