WHITEHALL TWP. – If you have driven down Whitehall Road since Thanksgiving you’re bound to notice Gerry Smith’s Christmas decorations.

Smith, who lives at 7670 Carefree Drive off of Whitehall Road, has been putting up lots of Christmas lights and decorations for around two decades.

It all started around 20 years ago, when Smith decided to decorate his house for all the kids in his wife’s day care. Ever year Smith begins putting his decorations up after Thanksgiving, even though the neighborhood kids would prefer he put them up as early as Halloween, Smith said.

Smith’s collection grows ever year, and this year he has expanded to his side yard. The lights run every day from 5 p.m.-midnight, and anyone is welcome to stop by and take a look or picture.
