MAPS superintendent receives high marks in evaluation

Montague Area Public Schools board members praised the progress of Superintendent Nathan Robrahn in his recent evaluation.

On a scale of “ineffective” to “highly effective” the MAPS trustees gave Robrahn an “effective” rating for meeting the board’s expectations and for his leadership in the district.

Board President Lee Suits stated that Robrahn has done an “outstanding job of moving Montague Area Public Schools forward during a very challenging time. As a board and a community, we are excited about the future under his leadership.”

Some opportunities for improvement include continuing the relationship within the staff and to highlight legislative issues, as they appear.

The board commented on Robrahn’s recent work with the Montague Teacher’s Education Association to make a change in insurance and to clarify some planning time language. According to the board, this continued collaboration between the superintendent and teacher’s union is essential, as the district moves forward.

Finally, the board gave credit to Robrahn for his continued desire for higher student achievement and high standards for staff.

Teachers, administrators and the board each stated they are pleased to have Robrahn as Montague’s superintendent.
