Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ to be performed at Playhouse Dec. 14

Tom Harryman will present a one-man production of “A Christmas Carol” at the Howmet Playhouse.

This brilliant holiday story, filled with humor and pathos, spirits and sinners, Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and more will be performed by former Playhouse managing director, Muskegon Community College instructor and professional actor Tom Harryman.

“We are so excited to have A Christmas Carol back on the Playhouse stage,” says Playhouse managing director Katie Trzaska. “Watching Tom perform in this capacity—multiple characters in such a classic story—is sure to be a rush for the audience. I hope everyone will leave with an appreciation of the magic of theater and with an abundance of holiday spirit!”

In that vein, all donations for concessions the night of the show will be donated to the Lebanon Lutheran Church Food Pantry in Whitehall. The food pantry serves families in Whitehall, Montague, and the surrounding townships. Donations of non-perishable food or personal items will also be accepted the evening of the show. For more information on items to donate or volunteering, please call Lebanon Lutheran Church at 231-893-5745.

Tickets for “A Christmas Carol” are $10 for adults and $7 for students with a student ID. The show is recommended for families with students ages 7 and up. Tickets are available at Whitehall City Hall and HarborLight Credit Union in advance or at the door the night of the show.

The show is underwritten by HarborLight Credit Union of Whitehall.

The show will be on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The date previously published in the Beacon was incorrect.
