Randall created the piece as a participant in the Muskegon Area Arts & Humanities Festival 2012 (ahfest) Art in 8 competition in October. In that contest, six artists were given eight hours to create a work of art centering on the ahfest theme. Rules required artists to incorporate several items provided by the contest committee, and at least one item the artists purchased during a 10-minute dollar store shopping spree, onto a 4-foot square piece of wood.

Various “found objects” and art supplies were also available to the artists. Randall’s one-man exhibit in Montague includes four additional works addressing the subject of Space. Arts Council of White Lake office hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday. Randall’s show will run through Dec. 28.
