Area tennis players recognized

Whitehall and Reeths-Puffer tennis players received some hardware recently as several players from both teams received all-conference recognition, with the Vikings also earning all-area nods.

For Whitehall, first singles player Tell Sutton earned first team all-Coastal Conference and all-area after an impressive season in the showcase spot for the Vikings. The first doubles team of Zac Carlson and Kyle Zack, which won a regional title, also received all-conference and all-area first team recognition.

The Vikings second doubles team of Austin Carlson and Erik Butzer earned all-area second team honors, and Tim Hiemstra was named honorable mention all-area at second singles.

Reeths-Puffers Curtis Pek and Clayton Suttorp, who played first and third singles respectively for the Rockets, were named to the all-O-K Black Conference team. The Rockets tied for fourth place in the five-team O-K Black.
