Mr. Laurence R. David



Laurence R. David, age 85, died November 25, 2012, at his home, with family at his side. Mr. David, owner of Muskegon Rag & Metal, was born July 16, 1927, in Muskegon, to Lawrence E. and Amelia (Yurick) David. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of First Lutheran Church in North Muskegon. On April 12, 1956, he married the former Gladys R. Schilling, who preceded him in death in 2002. Laurence was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Craig David and a brother, Norman David.

FAMILY: His daughter, Dona David of Muskegon; his son, Scott (Kimberly) David of Muskegon; a granddaughter, Autumn David; sister-in-laws, Maybelle Schilling of Ravenna and Diane David of Holland; nephew, Gary (Darlene) Schilling of Vestaburg; nieces, Sharon Thompson (Ron Campau) of Lenox, Linda Austin of Muskegon and Cheryl Buckley of Grand Rapids; special cousins, Charles (Sue) Yurick of Rockford, Ellen (Paul) Lecours of Grand Rapids and Marilyn (Tony) Broton of Ravenna; special friends, Pam & Mike Walsworth, Linda Noble, Beverly Frank, Bill & June Webber and Wendy & John Bialik.

SERVICE: Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 11 AM, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd., North Muskegon with Rev. Sarah Samuelson officiating. Interment will be in Fruitland Township Cemetery.

VISITING TIME: Friday, 6-8 PM, at Clock Funeral Home of White Lake, 413 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall.

DONATIONS: Gladys R. David Memorial Fund of First Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd., North Muskegon 49445.
