As a member of Freemasonry for 18 years, Rant is currently the Junior Warden. He has served in many offices in past years, and was Worshipful Master in 2003 and 2004.

Rant will be honored on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Masonic Temple located at 5425 Dowling St., Montague. A certificate will be presented at the ceremony, which will also include an address on Freemasonry by Thomas George PM. Rant and his wife, Pat, are parents of four children. The family resides in Whitehall.
