White Lake Area holiday walk Nov. 16-17
 
The annual Holiday Walk is back the weekend of Nov. 16-17 and the free, old-fashioned carriage rides are back on both Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday afternoon from noon-3 p.m.

‘Tis the season of Christmas that brings a community together and what better way to ring in the holiday than the 19th Annual White Lake Holiday Walk.

This year’s Holiday Walk will take place during the weekend of Nov. 16 and 17 along the streets of Montague and Whitehall with 24 participating businesses.

Enjoy traditional Christmas Open Houses featuring unique gifts and treats from participating White Lake Area merchants. Share the spirit of Christmas with holiday music and a visit with Santa Claus strolling along the streets both Friday and Saturday along with hundreds of luminaries lining the sidewalks Friday evening.

Also on Friday evening, Whitehall will again host the “Tree Lighting Ceremony” at 7 p.m. on North Mears where festive lights will be lit.

The White Lake Chorale will be the featured guests as they sing carols in celebration of the joyous season. Adding to the festivities, carolers from Whitehall High School and members of the Shoreline Barbershop Chorus will be caroling in the streets and at participating businesses.

Free, old-fashioned carriage rides await riders on the both Friday evening, Nov. 16, from 5-8 p.m. and during the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 17, from noon-3 p.m. in downtown Montague and Whitehall. Complimentary Trolley Rides will transport and deliver anyone wanting to visit any of the participating businesses in Montague and Whitehall throughout the day on Saturday. Children will want to check out the make it and take it Christmas crafts at the Nuveen Center in downtown Montague also on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. In addition to children’s activities, Santa will be in various stores ready to visit with kids of all ages.

Shoppers and passersby are invited to enjoy all the holiday decorations. Participating businesses will host a variety of specialties. There’s a lot to check out so be sure to get a Holiday Walk Map which are available at participating shops, businesses, and at the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Submit a completed map by going into at least 15 of the participating businesses and enter the drawing to win a $50 White Lake Gift Certificate.

The Holiday Walk hours are Friday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
