Mrs. Dorothy A. Klaus
 
Dorothy A. Klaus, age 89, of Montague, died November 9, 2012. She was born September 16, 1923, in the Grover Hotel in Stony Lake, to Floyd and Margaret (Schmiedeknecht) Grover. She had one sister, Kit, and one brother, Floyd. They enjoyed getting together to sing. Kit played the guitar, Floyd played the accordion and Dorothy played the harmonica.

She attended nursing school and worked in several hospitals. For the past 20 years, she devoted herself to taking care of her son, Raymond "Tad" Peterson, who had Muscular Dystrophy.

Dorothy loved to sing and often sang in church with her sister, Kit, and two nieces. She was a lifelong Lutheran, a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Montague, and faithfully read her Bible and Portals of Prayer daily. She enjoyed watching sports, but football was her passion.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Rodney "Olie" Peterson, and Raymond "Tad"Peterson, and her brother, Floyd Grover Jr.

FAMILY: 2 sons, Randy (Bonnie) Peterson of Green Bay, and Scott (Carrie) Aitken of Copemish; a daughter, Bonnie (John) Engstrom of Dexter; a step-daughter, Blanche Klaus of Big Rapids; grandchildren Jim (Tracey) Peterson, Nathaniel (Alice) Peterson, Adam (Dena) Aitken, Alison (Michael) Graham, Paul Engstrom and Luke Engstrom; 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, Kathryn "Kit" Wackernagle of Montague.

SERVICE: Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 11:30 AM, at St. James Lutheran Church, 8945 Stebbins St., Montague, where visiting time, sharing of memories and a luncheon will follow. Rev. John W. Brooks will officiate and interment will be in Oakgrove Cemetery, Montague.
